DMV Law Enforcement Services:

DMV Law Enforcement Services (LES) enforces and administers the laws of the Commonwealth, with special emphasis on DMV-related matters. Typical investigations include: driver license and title fraud, odometer fraud, misuse of dealer plates and temporary tags, curbstoning, sales and use tax evasion, and motor vehicle theft. In addition, Agents regulate all of the dealers licensed by DMV to ensure continued compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including conducting routine inspections of business locations and records. LES also conducts the required physical examinations of salvage vehicles and installs DMV-issued VIN plates. All DMV Special Agents are sworn police officers, with powers of arrest.
